Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. In Windows 7, applications remember the previous status of window size. If you run an application and set it to maximized then close, the next time you open it automatically in a maximized window. Right-click the program's shortcut and then click Properties.
This will open the Properties window with the Shortcut tab already selected. Click the drop-down menu next to Run and choose Maximized. Click OK. That said, I did find a solution:. I had to run this while logged in as each user that was experiencing the issue on this workstation.
I suppose a fresh install of Windows would also have taken care of it, but this was easier, and didn't necessitate reinstalling all the user's applications. If the user experiences this problem over multiple devices so presumably different Windows installations with different peripherals, could it be possible that they are trying to use the taskbar incorrectly?
Choose the first option PC Screen Only. Maximize your "hidden" application and you should see it on your screen. If that doesn't work, try to disable the Tablet mode. Hope above information can help you. Note: Please follow the steps in our documentation to enable e-mail notifications if you want to receive the related email notification for this thread. This is not the case.
User is still experiencing this issue. The oddest part of this is that this is happening in the same session in which the windows which then refuse to restore normally were first launched. This is very frustrating for the user.
Anyone else have any ideas where we could look for answers? Addendum to the issue apologies for not getting the right login for this forum -- this is still me The issue only happens when a program has multiple windows open.
To re-iterate: 1 Open Outlook 2 minimize the window. If there is only a single window for any given application, it functions normally. If there are multiple windows, it does not.
Have you found an solution for this? To force Windows to open a program in maximized mode, follow the steps in both sections below.
The following steps only work for a Windows program shortcut. It does not work for a non-shortcut icon. Before you can force programs to open maximized, you must access the Properties window for that program.
This process varies slightly based on where the shortcut icon is located.
