Though, it looks like this may be a non-issue as she only uses it on her phone. The computer is an HP Pavilion cscl with very nice specifications. Much nicer than most of the hardware I own. Runs very stable for an 'Alpha' version. Suspend to RAM works, but is not enabled by default. Ethernet works after resume, power management fan works as well. Wireless survives resume. Touchpad doesn't survive resume. Installing kernel 2. Broadcom wireless card works with bcm43xx driver and kernel 2. This problem no longer exists since openSUSE Broadcom Wireless mini-PCI only works with ndiswrapper 1. Suspending to RAM causes screen not responding on resume or kernel panic.
Firewire and Card Reader not tested. Lockup issues with 3D propriety ATI driver. Tried partition magic and it corrupted the disk. Probably not the installers problem.
SuSE More info. Change to COM5, and add pen and eraser. My configuration tested on a default install of No problems with re-partitioning and dual-booting of Vista. Shortcut keys came and went, but am too lazy to sort that. Though the uvcvideo driver for the webcam is installed out of the box, what was missing is v4l2 support, which can be obtained by downloading and installing pwlib-plugins-v4l2 from the "Build service".
Remote control works, at least partially. Haven't tried the fingerprint reader, and light-scribe DVD. For Computer to Computer connection must use ndiswrapper. WEP works.
